We started Hickory Dev because we were tired of fighting our tools.
As engineers, we spent more time wrestling with file formats and waiting on slow software than actually doing engineering. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built it ourselves. Cumulus started as an internal project to solve our own pain points—and it turned out other engineers had the same problems. Now we're building a suite of specialized tools that combine deep domain expertise with modern technology.
We're a small team, and that's intentional. We focus on doing a few things exceptionally well rather than trying to be everything to everyone. Every line of code is written by engineers who understand the problems because we've lived them.
